Years ago, I stood by helplessly as my mother passed away from cancer when I was in college. This life-changing event led me to become a healthcare practitioner. When my first wife passed away from cancer, I realized that the standard treatments were not adequate. I began to research alternative and adjunctive therapies. This began my path of understanding total body wellness and the amazing power of Cannabis.
Unfortunately, we learned too late to save my second wife, about a biological system often overlooked in the medical community for optimizing health and allaying disease. This system is referred to as the Endocannabinoid System (ECS). We then realized that to achieve optimal health, one must adopt a lifestyle that reduces toxins and uses targeted supplements to augment our nutritionally inadequate food sources. When combined with other positive lifestyle habits (exercise, stress management, hormone balance, and connectedness), we are able to increase our body’s Endocannabinoid “Tone” which leads us to total body balance.
Research into ways to improve our Endocannabinoid Tone has given rise to discoveries showing how Cannabis products may assist in this process. Further, we have found that by using various Cannabis products many people have been able to reverse the negative manifestations of some of today’s most common and chronic illnesses.
Over the past decade, it has been my mission to use my knowledge of health and the human body combined with my skills as a Compounding Pharmacist to create Cannabis-based products containing specific Amino Acids, Herbs, and Homeopathic Remedies to boost the Endocannabinoid System Tone. As a physician, I have dedicated my life to helping people relieve their pain and suffering. Pain turns lives upside down and destroys families every day. Pain is the number one cause of disability in this country. The opioid epidemic was in part created because of America’s pain problem. My surgical skills can only address certain parts of this problem.
Over the years, I performed many procedures that were technically very successful. People had good relief from their physical pain. However, they did not truly achieve a perfect outcome. I realized surgical expertise and medications were not enough. Patients were still experiencing only a partial recovery. I began my search to find a solution. Ultimately, I realized my surgeries addressed their physical pain but not their true wellness.
Wellness, or more importantly wholeness, is emphasizing a life of physical, mental, and emotional health. Achieving wholeness requires active participation. Harmony and balance can be restored with the use of natural supplements, an active lifestyle, and with professional mentoring. Large pharmaceutical companies would rather spend their money on developing the most profitable solution than on developing natural medications. It’s been seen over the years that various natural supplements offer amazing results and benefits. Unfortunately, finding organically grown products that are accurate and consistent in their production has been quite difficult.
CBD, cannabidiol, has recently been touted as a major supplement. CBD, a “Phyto Cannabinoid, works within the Endocannabinoid System (ECS). This system may be the missing link to optimal healing. Meet Dr. Chris Allison
Throughout my career (in the civilian and military sectors) as an oncologic, trauma, and reconstructive surgeon, I have treated a wide range of patients, from athletes to the disabled to military warriors to cancer-stricken children to victims of trauma to those suffering from the problems of advancing age. Through my learning and experience of human pathology and the associated healing process, I have come to understand the importance of homeostasis (balance) in the human body. Many experts agree and many studies indicate that Homeostasis could be directly correlated with the human Endocannabinoid System (ECS).
Current “pre-clinical” research has shown that imbalances in the Endocannabinoid System may be a major contributor not only to suboptimal healing but also to many of the common illnesses we see in people today. Research is now showing the possible benefits of Phyto-cannabinoids (i.e., Cannabidiol – CBD) in helping treat these disease-related deficiencies.
Patients and students alike are looking to me for guidance in finding safe and viable hemp-derived CBD products. I have seen more than my share of CBD products throughout the breadth of my medical experience, and I have even been asked to endorse some of these products; however, I am extremely reticent to promote anything I have not personally vetted, or that I feel is very safe and effective.
